E&P HYDRAULICS: HISTORICAL BACKGROUND
Eric Klinkenberg and Pierre Blom, the founders of E&P Hydraulics, have been involved in the technology of slide-out systems for some time and were following their increasing market penetration in the USA with interest. In August 2014, they decide it is the right time, to bring the best-selling ‘In-Wall-Slide-Out’ system from the USA to Europe and present this idea at the Caravan Salon in Düsseldorf. The idea immediately inspires the visitors and causes quite a stir at the trade fair.
2015
Given the high number of orders in the existing product segments of E&P, there is not enough time for further development or adaptation of the slide-out technology.
Various vehicle manufacturers show interest, directly integrating the solution imported from the USA or developing their own solutions. However, neither the imported nor self-developed solutions are able to achieve a genuine European technology standard.
2018
Acquisition of E&P Hydraulic by DexKo Global. Markus Helmling becomes technical director of E&P Hydraulics.
2020
STS INDUSTRIES: UNIFIED POWER SOURCE
Pierre Blom and Markus Helmling develop the global idea of a fully integrated auxiliary drive concept for motorhomes – one hydraulic power source which serves various actuators like slide-outs, hatches but also levelling solutions at once.
Launch of the company STS Industries and start of the series development of the power unit with connected slide-out and levelling system.
2023
Separation of product areas slide-out and levelling solutions. Strategic takeover of STS Industries with its levelling Solutions by DexKo Global.
XKUUB: FOCUS SLIDE-OUT
Building on the experience of the vehicle manufacturers, the intense competition in the field of levelling systems and the firm belief in the European slide-out idea, Pierre Blom and Markus Helmling decide to pursue their idea of the European slide-out further and concentrate fully on its realization.
With the launch of XKuub, a fundamentally new, directly electric driven slide-out concept is created that can be installed platform-independent in vehicles and trailers. First prototype tests of the drive system are performed successfully in the same year.
2024
Completion of the endurance run and field tests of the slide-out drive system.
Start of joint development of the sealing started with Trelleborg AB, the world’s leading supplier of automotive sealing systems.
2025
Implementation of the system in the first premium caravan.
